England is a very special and beautiful place to me. At 17 years old my first trip out of the U.S. was to London - a brief but important stop on my way to Norway, where i was to live for over a year as Foreign Exchange student sponsored by the Rotary Club. The streets of London were teaming with punks and an young anarchists. It was during the recession years of Margaret Thatcher. The IRA was actively bombing. I had trouble understanding the many accents- God help me if I had to communicate with a Scot. But it was exciting, so very exciting - I was hooked for life in London, the greatest city on Earth, and I would continue to travel there over the years dozens of times to tour and see my very good friend acclaimed photographer and author Martin Evening and to stay with my dear friends and clients Johanna Hehir.
